Agro Business - Organic Farming

Nigeria is greatly endowed with agricultural land that has all the potentials to feed the whole nation, send our children to school on scholarship, eradicate unemployment and also yield abundantly for exports. Her soil, geographical location, topography, water resources, climate condition supports this. We don’t need fertilizers on Nigerian soils because we are blessed with soils that can encourage organic farming and the production of wide range of exports crops needed internationally.

The countries agricultural life was nothing to write home about. According to captain John .T. Okakpu-MD/CEO Abx world Nigeria Limited and also our partner in revolution of lives through agriculture” shortly after the end of Nigeria’s civil war, precisely from 1973 when we stumbled on commercial production of oil. We went to sleep and gave up the huge agriculture venture that once shut us to global limelight and distinguished us glowingly among our peers. We thank providence however that at last, the parallax has snapped, oil and its attendant emergency fortunes have rolled back, leaving us to confront the stark realities of Nigeria being a nation whose creation and destiny is iron cast in agriculture.

My task here today therefore, is first and foremost to enunciate and reappraise our nation’s present day global agricultural relevance, relative to her comparative advantages in her renewed effort to generate new fortunes from food production to feed the world. And I dare to say that for us to effectively re-engineer, and reposition ourselves as a people and as a nation, in the present day highly dynamic, greatly demanding and thoroughly competitive international agricultural food market, we must as a rule, perfect compliance with the prescribed standards of the relevant international food safety governing body. Then ultimately, our commercial production approaches must be highly strategic, farmer-friendly and methodical. And we must all commend the current government 4 years agricultural policy (THE GREEN ALTERNATIVE 2016 – 2020) which has practically returned the farmers and their stake holders to the driver’s seat of the entire industry process and thus back –staging government role only as regulator and infrastructure provider, in a radical departure the past and in conformity with best global practices.

In Nigeria today, our prospects for food crops export production, if well co-ordinated, is interesting far brighter than it ever was in history. And it is critical that we identify, develop and concentrate squarely on the preparation for export particularly with regards to those crops that confer comparative advantage on the farmers. Hence, for Nigeria in general we have wide latitude of crops to look at namely, vegetables, yam, pineapple, cashew, sorghum, ginger, garlic, potatoes, cocoa, sesame seed, cowpea, yellow pepper, millet, long beans among many others.

Fortunately too, our own species of these crops are loaded with excellent organic qualities and are thus some of the best and most sought after by international markets. What we require to do as a nation that is seriously desirable of export boom of our crops is to facilitate the co-ordination of our agricultural institutions and agencies in order to achieve effective synergy to harness our vast national potentials in the production and packaging of these crops. And then ultimately expose our farmers and producers to the standards and culture prescribed by GLOBAL G.A.P.

Today, we live in a global world that entertains great concern for safe agricultural productivity as a vehicle that guarantees food safety. The entire system and mechanism by which this is achieved is managed and governed by GLOBAL G.A.P.
Suffice to say therefore that any nation whose farmers and producers are GLOBAL G.A.P. compliant is indeed a nation in serious business of agricultural export and thus a nation in prosperity.”

Our mission in Vienti is to bring the benefits of this our blessed land Nigeria to its people and also to the world in general. Our agricultural platform right now has the capacity to create a lucrative income source for as many people as possible. We can now bridge the gap between the rich and the poor, send our children to school without stress, reduce unemployment.
Eat healthy and eat well. We can now start raising corporate business personnels that can compete and meet the global standards. We can re-write the history of Nigeria together.

IT IS A NEW DAWN NIGERIA!!!
